ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

Sports are an integral part of our school curriculum. It brings vivacity, zeal and exuberance in the hearts and minds of students. Therefore our school inculcates sports with academics since it brings in accountability, dedication, unity, leadership and a competitive spirit among students.

Various sports such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Football, Throw ball are coached and tournaments held amongst the three houses. The school teams also participate in the competitions held outside the school organized by other schools and authorities.

Annual Sports Function is regularly held every year at Pakistan Sports Board formerly known as National Sports Training and Coaching Centre. The students display a wide array of colorful events such as March Past on the melodious beat of the school band, P.T. Display, Tae Kwon Do and Athletics. The young athletes mesmerize the audience with their energetic performance. Medals and cups are awarded to the winners and cock house trophy is awarded to the winning house while a runner up trophy is also awarded to acknowledge the hard work and team spirit of the runner up house.

HISTORY and GEOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

At KCS, we believe history and geography are a valuable part of the curriculum. Students not only acquire knowledge but also foster lifelong skills which enable them to explore and understand the world around them.

The students choose topics from their syllabus and after doing thorough research under the guidance of their teachers; they display their work and give presentations. Parents and guests are also invited.

AWARENESS PROGRAMMES

In an increasingly interconnected world, educators, employers and communities all want to see students developing as successful global citizens. They want to see young people who are internationally-aware, tolerant, and are able to communicate with people from various range of cultures, backgrounds and traditions.

Awareness sessions which are frequently held at Karachi Cambridge School formalize and consolidate global learning, particularly around issue such as poverty, social injustice, citizenship and community services.

They also bring about covert awareness which is about education beyond the text book, beyond classroom walls, and help students see beyond the places they currently call home.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION

The Karachi Cambridge School takes pride in holding science projects annually in the form of exhibition. These science projects enable the students to perform and experiment independently and confidently and also assist them to explore the various fields of science i.e chemistry, physics and biology, etc. These projects play a vital role in the students conceptual clarity as they excel in fundamental and advanced fields of science. These science projects are a part of their curriculum.

SCHOOL BAND

Karachi Cambridge School has its very own Band Team which plays and gives amazing performance every year on Annual Sports Day to amuse the audience. They also serve as a synchronization factor for the children doing P.T. Display on the Annual Sports Day. There has always been something rewarding about not just playing music to an audience as an individual but being part of a team of musicians who are all working towards the same goal – making music and in turn making people happy.

Besides the whole “learning life through learning music” principle, there are many other benefits to playing in bands. Students who play in a band tend to do very well with higher level learning which is why KCS supports school band.

TAE KWON DO

Taekwondo or Martial Arts is the only activity perfectly positioned to integrate character education as it serves as a vehicle to instil values and skills that children can put to use. It inculcates self-confidence, self-control, positive thinking, listening skills, respect, good manners, the ability to focus, perseverance and courage. The core objective is to stress upon the importance of a healthy mind and body necessary to lead a productive life.

Karachi Cambridge School has a long history of including Taekwondo as part of the school curriculum. Presently, the students are trained under the supervision of Mr. Nadeem Isfahany and have won several trophies and medals in the competitions of martial arts.

ANNUAL SCHOOL MILAD

The Annual School Milad is commemorated with great reverence as part of the school’s regular co-curricular activity. The school holds religious knowledge as significant as any other discipline of learning. In this regard, the school celebrates Eid Milad-un-Nabi with great fervor and dedication. The school is decorated beautifully as per colour theme. All the children are clad in white, girls wear dupattas and the boys wear caps of the theme colour.

Besides the whole “learning life through learning music” principle, there are many other benefits to playing in bands. Students who play in a band tend to do very well with higher level learning which is why KCS supports school band.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world!”
-Social Activist, Howard Zinn

We truly want our young students to develop into proactive, problem -solving adults and believe that school and community must become a laboratory for them to develop the necessary abilities. At KCS, the students have the opportunity to take part in meaningful service-learning experiences. In the past, our students have visited Ida Rieu School for Deaf and Blind, hospitals, Dar-ul-Sukoon and also participated in tree plantation drives and various other community services. These activities allow students to learn and apply academic, social and personal skills to improve the community, continue individual growth, and become better citizens. They learn to focus on both, service and learning. We, at KCS, make sure that it is implemented through preparation, action, reflection and demonstration.
